A proud Alaskan since 1971, Janai Marie Meyer, R.D., L.D., C.L.C., has more than 15 years’ experience delivering high- quality, personal nutritional guidance in health promotion for southern and southeast Alaska communities. Meyer provides a wide range of group, community and individual wellness classes; including but not limited to:
- Breastfeeding counseling
- Diabetes (Type 1 & 2) management and pre-diabetes medical nutrition therapy
- Food preservation – both traditional and customary food harvesting
- Individual outpatient medical nutrition therapy covering a wide range of diseases and conditions
- Health promotion classes for local community health services
Her passion to help patients to find overall wellness and disease prevention starts with assisting new parents with breastfeeding. To provide breastfeeding clients the best possible care, Meyer carries a large selection of Medela breast pumps for rental and retail sale.
The new private practice office accepts private insurance, Medicare Part B and Medicaid for covered services. Ms. Meyer is available by appointment.
